Hier mein Interview als Kurator der Ausstellung »Anaarestan« auf Bayern Eins zur Eröffnung der Ausstellung an der Internationalen Jugendbiblithek München in der Sendung Kulturzeit 26. September 2013.
Here is a part of an interview with me about the exhibition »Anaarestan - current children's book illustration from Iran« which I curated at Bayern 1, a German radio station in Munich.

Während des Aufenthaltes zur Eröffnung der »Erdbeerland« Ausstellung wurden wir eingeladen über den deutsch-iranischen Ausstellungsaustausch »Anaarestan & Erdbeerland« zu sprechen. Tom Eigenhufe am Mikrofon, rechts daneben der deutsche Illustrator Jonas Lauströer.
On the trip to the opening of the »Erdbeerland« exhibition in May 2014 we have been invited to speak about our exhibition exchange project »Anaarestan & Erdbeerland«. Tom Eigenhufe at the mic, next to him on the right German illustrator Jonas Lauströer.

Der größte Teil der Buchmessestände befindet sich in einer neuen riesigen Moschee im Zentrum von Teheran.
The main part of the book fair is situated in a new huge mosque in the centre of Tehran.

Ich habe diese Ausstellung für den Verein Hammeraue e.V. - Verein für illustrations- & Zeichenkunst in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kinderbuchrat Iran in Teheran kuratiert.
I have curated this international exhibition in close cooperation with the Children's Book Council of Iran, Teheran.

He, die Illustrationen zu meinem neuen Buch »Sonnige Grüße aus Ziffernhausen« sind zur Kinderbuchmesse in Bologna 2014 ausgewählt worden. Ach und sogar noch bevor das Buch überhaupt erschienen ist. 

The  illustrations of my new book where selected for the 2014 Bologna childrens book fair - hehe. Even bevor the book is published.

Bologna ist eine tolle, charmate Stadt - und die Atmosphäre ist noch besser, wenn all die Illustratoren in der Stadt sind. Mein Lieblingsort in der Stadt: Auf dem Dach des Torre Assinelli.

Bologna ist such nice and charming city and has a great athmosphere when all the artists are in town. My favored place: On top of Tore Assinelli.

 

Allerdings war der Flug da hin gefährlich - zu viele hustende Leute:

Die Illustrationen zu meinem kommenden Leporello-Buch ”Sonnige Grüße aus Ziffernhausen" wurden zur Illustrations-Bienale Ilustrarte 2014 in Lissabon ausgewählt.
The Illustrations of my hopefully soon coming book where selected for the Illustration Bienale Ilustrarte 2014 in Lissbon.

Die Ausstellung hat ein geniales Ausstellungssystem und es gibt viele tolle Illustrationen zu sehen.

There was a super cool presentation of the artwork and a lot of very good illustrations selected.

Und Lissabon ist supercharmat - eine tolle Stadt.
Lissbon is such a loveley city.

Ein Austausch von jeweils 53 Künstlern aus Denver, USA und Berlin, BRD. Jeder hatte seinem Partner in der anderen Stadt eine Frage zu stellen und auf die erhaltene Frage ein Bild anzufangen und in die Partnerstadt schicken. Alle Fragen sollten mit »What if...« beginnen. Später kam ein Angefangenes Bild aus der anderen Stadt zurück.
An exchange of 53 artist from Denver , USA and Berlin, Germany. Each artist had to send to his partner a question starting with: »What if...?« and than use this as starting point for his work. That work of each was send to the partner to finish the work.

Teil 1: Ich bekam die Frage: »What if nothing?« Und das ist meine Arbeit die zu meinen Partner Dan Fodness in Denver ging.
Part 1: I got the question: »What if nothing?« And this is my work which went to my artist parner Don Fodness to Denver.

Und was er gemacht hat, kommt sicher bald hierher, oder ihr geht nach Denver und seht es euch selbst an.

Anaarestan heißt Granatapfelland auf Farsi der Sprache des Iran und zeigt die neuesten Früchte auf dem Feld der iranischen Kinderbuch-Illustration.

Eröffnung: Frau Dr. Raabe, Direktorin der IJB

Mit einem Vortrag zu aktuellen Situation in der iranischen Kinderbuchillustration und natürlich mit frischen Granatäpfeln.

Anaarestan has the meaning Land of the pomegranate in the Persian language. So the exhibition will show new fruits in the field of iranian childrens illustration. After the opening speach of Miss Dr. Raabe, director of IYL, therewill be a talk about contemporary iranian illustration as well.

All you can eat-A4 & Huelga de Consumo

Für eine Gruppenausstellung einer serbische Künstlergruppe in der Berliner Neurotitan Gallerie bin ich gefragt worden einen Beitrag zum Thema »All you can eat« in Schwarzweiß auf A4 abzugeben. Daraus hab ich später dann gleich noch ein passendes Plakat zum Welt-Kaufnix-Tag gemacht.
I was ask to send some work for a group exhibition of a serb artist group in the Berlin Neurotitan Gallery. Out of this pice I made a poster for the buy-nothing-day. As I was in Spain at this time it is in Spanish.

Part 2 of 3 of the exhibition »Shabaviz - Contemporary Iranian Children's-Books-Illustrations« took place in the beautyful seaport of Hamburg. We invited all the people there, such as fisherman...
Die zweite von drei Ausstellungen von »Shabaviz - zeitgenössige iranische Kinderbuch-Illustrationen« fand im Mai 2012 in Hamburg statt. Wir luden alle Leute ein - so zum Beispiel Fischer...
... as well as students of illustrations - außerdem Illustrationsstudenten:
... and people from around the corner - und Leute von nebenan:
The exhibition took place in the new alternative Hamburg artist space Frappant e.V. .
Die Ausstellung fand im und mit toller Unterstützung des neuen alternativen Hamburger Künstlervereines Frappant e.V. statt.

Viele Gäste hinterließen tolle Einträge im Gästebuch - 1000 und einen Dank im Namen der Illustratoren (und des Kurators).
One night we invited students and her professor to the exhibition and they hold a lecture there.
Einen Abend haben wir in die Ausstellung Studenten mit ihrer Professorin eingeladen:
We added some illustrations of animated films for the the exhibition in Hamburg...
Außerdem hatten wir für die Hamburger Ausstellung ein paar neue Illustrationen zugefügt, die für iranische Trickfilme entstanden sind.
... and showed them at tree nights at the expo.
... und natürlich gab es drei Filmabende mit diesen iranischen Trickfilmen:
And at the end we had a peautiful finissage with the band Mardome Donya and a spontanous approuch of an iranian classical tenor. pictures soon)
Ein weiterer Höhepunkt war die Finissage mit der Band Mardone Donya und einem spontanem Auftritt eines iranischen klassischen Sängers. (bald mit Bild)
